There are many reasons to use films in the AP ® Human Geography classroom. Teachers can use films to explain, elaborate, describe, or demonstrate concepts.
Films can prompt discussion or research, or serve as an introduction to a unit. They can provide a method for directing student learning to a particular discovery.
GEOGRAPHY AND FILMS. Using films to teach geography is a well-developed theme in the geographical teaching literature. Emphasis is almost always placed on the overall value of using films to geography with a few examples or developing geographical concepts in great detail for a particular film.
